Magic May week in Styria & tropical June week in Salzkammergut!

The perfect selection of these two weeks was guaranteed with the beautiful sunny weather even though three frozen greeted us a little bit without mercy at beginning of May week and summer night storms went along with us in June.

May biking trails around Schladming were miscellaneous and difficult for overall evelation (135 km, 3760 m). One of them was selected from Alpentour Trophy mountain bike festival which was routed through the beautiful scenery of snowy Dachstein mountains.  The most of our impressions were from the alpine picturesque spring nature for taking of our pictures. We had a luck to see biking on an old historical bike and to emendare for parking in the centre of Schladming.  Mountain waterfalls “Riesachfälle” in Untertal valley were marvellous. The apartments was great with the large swimming pool only for us. :o)

June holiday week was like “an immediate hot summer” at the mountain lake Wolfgangsee. Temperatures were such too high (about 35 °C) that I didn’t believe we were in the Alps. Therefore time for bathing and grilling was also scheduled  in our program. The first day was a little bit a climbing day with our Czech brothers. We had a sweat too much mainly during mountain biking but we got accustomed. A couple storms woke us during some nights but no serious issues like in Corsica. :o) The one surprised us with hail-stones and strong rain during hiking in Totesgebirge mountains. We never forget colored evening sceneries at lake, morning greetings from white swans in camping and the short romantic biking trail for our evening refreshment. The last evening with Japanese tourists was really funny!

To have a lot of experiences means to go into the mountains. Austrian Alps is “Garden of Eden” for it!

Excellent bike change!

Yes, thus would be possible to mention this step of my love. She replaced own bike such unbelievably that I was surprised too much. At present I enviously look at her new bike how she enjoys it during her each ride. :o)  Hopefully it will be more reliable than mine. Of course we are faithful still our brand-name. :o)

Finally again funny alpine sledging!

After a longer time we had the luck for quite optimal sledging conditions. At the visit of Hinterglemm ski resort once we beheld pretty nice and long sledging track we were decided immediately. This track was routed from the summit of Reiterkogel which we knew from our summer holiday in 2008. We had to talk around my parents but it went quite smoothly and quickly. We bought tickets, rented four sledges from Slovakian in sledge rental and ran into the ropeway cabin. Beautiful sunny weather and picturesque mountain atmosphere on the terrace of Reiteralm cottage talked us that it would be pity not to spent a time at this cottage and not to have some refreshment. And than let’s go sledging down! The track was great and quite long (cca. 30 minutes with breaks). Views for pictures were really beautiful. It was funny. We enjoyed all.

Hopefully we will have some further opportunity to repeat that more times in the Alps. :o)
